NYC – City Proof 24 Hour Waterproof Eyeshadow Review
Long lasting eyeshadow crayons on a budget.
I recently spotted these NYC – New York Colour Eye Shadow jumbo pencils for €3.49, they are a steal at €3.49 so I bought five shades to try out of the eleven shades in total.
These pencils are great, I love them. They are so convenient and so easy to use, no sharpening, just twist and apply. These multi-use pencils can be used as an eyeshadow and eyeliner. There is no need for brushes. They are perfect for beginners, you can’t go wrong and perfect for when you are on the go.
They come in a twistable stick so no need for sharpening and for the price the pigment is generous. They glide on smoothly with the exception of 625 Rockefeller Snowflakes which is the white colour. I wasn’t a huge fan of the texture, it was very chalky and didn’t blend well. It was a disappointment so I will definitely be giving this one a miss. My favourite three colours that I picked up from the range were 600 Wall Street Bronze (Bronze), 635 New York at Night (Black) and 650 East River Romance (Blue). The black was a true black with strong pigment and I was instantly drawn to the bright colour of the blue and I tend to use it as an eyeliner as a splash of colour along with the beige (620 Murray Hill Champagne) and bronze as eye shadows.
They claim to last 24 hours, I didn’t get to test the full 24 hours but I have worn them on numerous long days and they were a little faded but they have good staying power.Well worth a try, you can’t go wrong for the price.
I also purchased the Beautifying Blush BB cream stick. It comes in 2 shades – Soho Pink 001 and Never Sleeping Pink 002. The 002 was a very bright coral pink, a little bit bright for me so I opted to try the 001. A little goes along way with these blushers as I learnt the hard way first time I applied them but I loved the subtle colour of the rose pink in the 001.
