Holiday Beauty & Make-up Essentials
I am not long back after a fab break in Lanzarote. It was a lovely relaxing girlie holiday. It has been a busy few months in work so it was lovely to relax and recharge my batteries. If anyone is planning a trip away soon, preparation is key. I have put together a few holiday beauty and make-up essentials that I always stock up on when I’m going through duty free.
We always travel light, as it is only for a few days as we only bring hand luggage. Remember everything needs to be under 100mls if you are carrying it as hand luggage. I tend to bring samples of skincare products, to avoid excess weight. A lot of skincare counters will give you testers, so there is no need to bring heavy bottles with you if you are going away for a few days.
When it comes to sun cream, I always wear a high Sun Protection Factor (SPF) on my face, and my favourite is Dermalogica SPF 50. I find it non-greasy and doesn’t clog my pores. I’m not as fussy when it comes to which product I use on my body, but I always use SPF 30. We found that the sun creams were cheaper in Dublin airport than buying them in Lanzarote. Boots had a great offer on the Soltan range, if you buy 2 you got the second half price. I found them very reasonable priced and worked well for me.
As I have semi-permanent lashes and eyebrows, and after a few hours in the sun, I find I don’t need as much make-up. I highly recommend semi-permanent eyelashes as a treat for your holidays! A little bit of foundation on my T-zone, eyeshadow on my eyes and a pop of colour on lips. I always buy Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation when I go through duty free. It is my absolute favourite foundation. It comes in 21 shades with pink, yellow or beige undertones. It is oil free and leaves you with a lovely luminous finish. It has medium coverage. It evens out my skin tone and covers most of my blemishes, and it never feels heavy on the skin. It definitely has good staying power.
Another one of my favourite products that I would of been lost without on this holiday. was the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream protectant. It is a miracle cream for chapped lips, you can apply it dry skin, you name it. Well worth the buy next time you are passing through duty free.
Enjoy your summer.
